Olson (D-Des Moines), Labor Committee Ranking
Member Lance Horbach (R-Tama) and Vice Chair
Nate Willems (D-Mount Vernon) met on Wednesday
afternoon to discuss HSB

Attorney/Partner,
BrownWinick Vice Chair, Iowa Association of
Business and Industry brown@brownwinick.com

will add even more cost to the already
astronomical burden of business owners in
Iowa. The new "doctor shopping" bill SSB
1119 has been estimated to add another $93
million (National Council for Compensation
Insurance) per year in insurance premiums if
enacted. To see the net effects of
the proposed "doctor shopping" legislation, one
needs only look east. It has been said
that Iowa employers spend an average of $225 per
year, per employee for work-comp insurance. continue
