All ABI members are encouraged to
participate in either the Republican or
Democratic primary election next Tuesday, June
8.
Polls are open 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. All
legal residents of Iowa may participate by
simply choosing a party when signing in to vote
at the polls on Election Day. To find
your polling location, CLICK HERE. Be sure
you vote BEFORE coming to Ames that day for the
ABI Taking Care of Business
Conference.

Care Reform Resource Center... Alice Helle,

The 2010 healthcare reform
legislation provides $5 billion to assist
employers in maintaining health coverage for
retirees who are at least age 55 and who are not
yet eligible for Medicare. The
financial assistance is available to both new
and established retiree health plans. Qualifying
employers must use the financial assistance to
reduce their own health care costs, to provide
premium relief to the covered retirees, or a

Workers'
compensation fraud is a significant contributor
to our nation's annual $30 billion insurance
fraud problem. Although the presence of several
of the following conditions does not necessarily
mean an employee is likely to be involved in a
fraudulent claim, it's smart to watch for these
red flags with claims:
1.
Employee
is disgruntled, soon-to-retire, or facing
imminent firing or layoff
2.
Employee
is new to the job or has a history of short-term
