19 NEW Faces

With 19 retirements in the legislature this year, no matter what happens in the November 2nd elections, there will be 19 NEW faces in the Iowa Legislature.  19 lawmakers are not seeking re-election.  That means 19 new faces.  Will they be pro-union? Trial lawyers? Left-wing environmentalists?  Or will they be pro-business, pro-growth candidates?

Work Comp Premium Bump Proposed

ABI participated in the annual state forum hosted by the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) last Thursday.  NCCI, which collects claim data from across the country, has recommended to the Iowa Insurance Commissioner a 4.7% increase in workers' compensation premium effective January 1, 2011.
