 From
the Desk Of...Michael
Ralston
As you
know, we do a lot of things at ABI, but each of
them is related to our core functions of public
policy advocacy, member programs and events, and
Foundation activities. While some
organizations seem to be gearing down for the
end of the year, our work never stops at
ABI. In fact, in the next 60 days
and as charged by the ABI Board of Directors,
the association will be focusing
on advancing an agenda related to each of
the core functions mentioned above. Just
some of the actions to be taken include
finalizing public policy positions and adoption
by the board of an aggressive agenda as it
pertains to the 2010 Session of the Iowa General
Assembly, pre-session meetings with legislators
will take place, production of a series of
programs and events to provide information to
members (such as the HR Hot Topics Program
coming up November 18 in Fairfield) will occur,
and of course the work of the ABI Foundation
programs such as Leadership, LIU, and others
also continues. Continue
